Meet Your Practitioner

Dr Sarah Cameron is the founder of Embody Health Osteopathy, a space created from her heartfelt desire to inspire wholeness, facilitate healing, and gently guide people back to their most aligned, embodied selves. Every element of Sarah’s practice is grounded in the belief that true health is more than the absence of pain — it’s about feeling connected, empowered, and fully present within your body.

Sarah’s journey into osteopathy began through her own personal healing experiences. Passionate about her sport throughout her childhood, she competed in tennis, dance, and athletics, often facing the physical and emotional challenges of injury. It was through receiving whole-person, integrative care that Sarah witnessed firsthand the profound impact of being treated as more than just a body part or symptom — an experience that sparked her calling to offer this same depth of care to others.

Driven by this purpose, Sarah dedicated herself to not only mastering the technical aspects of osteopathy but also nurturing a practice that honours the individual behind the injury. For six years, she worked closely with a local football club in Melbourne, gaining valuable insight into injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the pressures athletes face to perform and recover. These experiences deepened her understanding of the delicate relationship between the body, mind, and spirit in the healing process.

At Embody Health Osteopathy, Sarah’s approach is both nurturing and intuitive, blending skilled hands-on therapy with movement-based rehabilitation and education. She believes in truly listening to her patients — understanding their stories, concerns, and aspirations — and tailoring care that not only relieves discomfort but fosters lasting, meaningful change. Her goal is to support each person in reconnecting with their inner vitality, restoring balance, and feeling at home in their body once again.

Sarah is also certified in myofascial dry needling and cupping therapy, complementing her holistic approach to musculoskeletal health and wellbeing.

When not in the clinic, you’ll find Sarah soaking up the simple joys of life — exploring beautiful beaches, seeking out new cafés, and cherishing time with her partner, family and friends. It’s this wholehearted, balanced approach to life that she brings into her work, helping others discover the freedom, ease, and wholeness that comes with truly embodying health.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on form of manual medicine that focuses on treating the whole body — including muscles, joints, ligaments, fascia, nerves, and internal organs — to restore balance and support the body’s natural ability to heal. It recognises the important connection between the structure of the body and the way it functions, aiming not just to relieve symptoms, but to address the underlying cause of discomfort and improve overall wellbeing.

At Embody Health Osteopathy, every treatment is guided by four core osteopathic principles that make osteopathy unique within modern healthcare:

  • The body is a unitall parts of the body are interconnected, and a change in one area can affect the function of another.

  • Structure and function are interrelated if the body’s structure is altered, its function will also be affected.

  • The body has its own self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms as osteopaths, it’s our role to support these natural processes by identifying and addressing musculoskeletal restrictions that may hinder recovery.

  • Rational treatment is based on these principles every diagnosis and treatment plan is shaped by this holistic framework.

Osteopaths use a wide range of techniques tailored to each individual, including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, muscle stretching, fascial and ligamentous release, and cranial osteopathy. Treatment may also involve postural advice, rehabilitation exercises, and lifestyle recommendations to support lasting health improvements.

Osteopathy is one of the oldest forms of manual medicine, founded in 1874 by American medical doctor Andrew Taylor Still. In Australia, osteopaths are government-registered primary healthcare practitioners who complete a minimum of five years of accredited university study in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis, and osteopathic technique.

At Embody Health Osteopathy, we take pride in delivering personalised, thoughtful care. Our approach is through carefully assessing restrictions in joint movement, muscle tension, and imbalances in connective tissues. From there, we develop comprehensive treatment and management plans tailored to your needs, often working closely with a trusted network of healthcare professionals to ensure you receive the highest quality care and support on your path to embodying health.
